Popsicles

Nothing says summer like those great, cheap, you-freeze popsicles. And since it has turned hot here my kids have enjoyed the ritual of eating these frozen delights out on the patio. I did not realize the amount of dye loaded into each one until my kids stuck out their tongues and they were brillantly coated in red and violet. The kids giggled at each other's tongues, then giggled when they saw the pictures of their own tongues. Jeremiah squealed, "My tongue is so red and red is my favorite color!" Claire interjected, "Yeah mom, can you believe how purple my tongue is?" Then they went back to giggling. Of course then they had me stick out my tongue to see if it was pink, but alas, it wasn't very impressive. Jeremiah stated, "Your tongue is not pink Mommy." And logical Claire said, "That's because her tongue is already pink." Of course to Jeremiah it wasn't the same shade as the popsicle and was therefore disappointed that my tongue hadn't morphed into a variant shade. Still, his disappointment was soon abated as the tongue-sticking out party began again and the giggles and silly faces ensued. Admittedly I got caught up in the giggles and then the pictures and thought the five-cent popsicles were worth much more than that.

Rebecca, Love your blog! Your kids are adorable and are so big. It is amazing how fast time flies. It sounds like your life is as crazy and busy as mine. Kids have a tendency to make the ordinary things in life extraordinary and fun. We are finally getting settled in our new home and I will have more time to update our blog and check other people blogs. What a great way to stay in touch and see how friends and family are doing. Great to hear from you!
