Doggie Doo

Ok, I wasn't going to use my blog as a venting area but I think I need to change that thought because I have a gripe and since I don't get to gripe on national TV my blog is the next best thing.

I cannot stand dog owners who take their best friend out for a walk to do the dog's business and don't pick it up!!! Why in the world do people do that? Actually, I know why. Poop is gross. I wouldn't want to scoop it up. Diapers were gross enough. It's one reason we don't own a dog. I don't want to scoop poop. But seriously, do people who let their dogs doo-doo wherever think anyone enjoys walking by it, let alone in it?!?!

It just seems to me that I cannot go to any public out door area without finding those mounds somewhere. Perhaps my frustration stems back from our family gathering at a park when Claire was climbing through a tunnel and fell face first into doggie doo. I was so grossed out and infuritated at the lack of respect by someone. Now we have to inspect any grassy area before we play soccer or baseball so insure my kids don't wind up in it.

I fail to see how dogs can just go anywhere and people leave it. What would happen if non-potty trained kids just did their business wherever. We don't allow it of course because it's disgusting. So if you're a dog owner be a responsible "parent". CLEAN UP YOUR DOG'S MESS! Don't leave it for my kids to run through. There's enough places for flies to congregate that we don't need additional attraction sites.

I recognize some will read this and perhaps be offended because they do pick up after their dog and don't want to be lumped in with those that don't. Don't be offended, my words aren't meant for responsible owners like you. I can even tolerate those accidents. You get caught off guard without something to use. But we all know there are people who just don't intend to pick up anything, ever. To them I plead, pick it up! I didn't leave poopy diapers on trails or at parks for you to step in, smell, etc. Please don't leave your dog's stuff for me to find.

Hahahah. Okay sorry I just have to laugh. I have had these same thoughts several times. Especially when it comes to my own yard. I don't have a dog, so I know that if there is dog poo in my yard it isn't from us!!! I love people that pick up! They totally rock!

Our neighbor thinks it is ok to let her dog poo in our yard, even with us aware of the situation. Who is in charge in this world, us or the dogs!
