Virus

Recently our computer got infected by the Windows Antivirus 2008 virus. It is the first virus we've ever had on our computer and I hope, hope, hope it is the last. It is a pernicious virus that left me thinking the best virus cure was to take a baseball bat to the CPU over and over again.

Anyway, thankfully we were able to get it fixed by downloading a program from Malwarebytes. So if you ever get this virus, or a form of it and can't get it erased with any of your computer's software, I'd go to www.malwarebytes.org. We will still probably wipe our hard drive clean on a future date (thanks, David!) and reinstall everything to make sure that virus isn't lurking about secretly embedded on some file stealing info, etc.

Here's hoping all of your anti virus software, etc. does a better job of filtering for this virus than ours did. For those curious it is one of those virus that are called drive by downloads I think. It is often attached to audio/video files and doesn't have to be sent in an email. You can get it by looking at an infected site. Of course, you don't know the site is infected, which doesn't help. But having a baseball bat near your CPU just might. (:

Oh Thanks Rebecca! Ya it was kind of horrible but luckily the things we lost is totally replaceable. Thanks though for your offer!! You are so sweet!
By the way how did you guys know you had a virus on your computer. I'm just afraid we would have one and not even know it!
