Cleaning House

I have been thinking about home schooling my kids and decided to talk to them about it. Jeremiah is still a year away from being able to go to public school but as I was tucking him in bed I laid down beside him and had the following conversation:

"Jeremiah, when it's time to go to kindergarten, would you like to have school at home with me?"

"Oh no Mommy!"

"Why not?"

"I want to ride the bus and I'm excited to see who my friends will be."

Then wanting to have a bit of fun I said, "But who will stay home with me? I might get lonely."

"It will be ok Mommy."

"I don't know. Who will play checkers with me? Who will watch Diego with me? Who will read books with me?"

Then he put his two adorable hands on my cheeks and said in his super sweet voice, "Mommy, when I'm at school you can just clean, clean, clean, so then when I come home I can see the house and how clean it is! Ok Mommy?"

Who's raising this boy anyway and what are they teaching him?!?!?

Well at least he has acknowledged that you are good at cleaning the house! I have thought about home schooling Tyler. I guess every kid is different and has different learning styles. We have been trying to teach Tyler to fold his arms and he would not do it, then he saw a little boy at church folding his arms and he wants to fold his arms ever since! We have noticed that peer pressure and seeing what other kids can do is what motivates him to learn. Although, kids are not always up to good, so I have a feeling we will have many problems in the future!

That's too cute! It sounds like he has his mind made up. Very few men do...your little man is ahead of the game. ;)

That Jeremiah boy! He's so witty. I've considered it, for a MOMENT, but Allison sure does love her school experience so far as well as RIDING THE BUS!

How funny! I honestly would enjoy a day to deep clean without any kids to distract me, although I still enjoy the distractions. The depressing part would be how fast it would get dirty after it was all clean!
