We started out the day with the girls getting their cheeks painted. Claire was excited as it was her first time.
Next we went to the Children's Zoo where we went to watch some of the shows. The timing was great as it started to down pour so at least we kept dry. Unfortunately a few minutes into the show the crow flew away and so they had to stop the show so we moved on. Here the kids pose while the trainers try to chase the birds.
Then we went to see the sea lion show. Claire, Stuart and I really enjoyed it and were impressed with the performance. Jeremiah was unimpressed and bored.
I love this picture of Claire and Jeremiah with their 3-D glasses on. Jeremiah was super excited to go on the moving 3-D dinosaur ride. That is until it started. The 3-D dinosaurs really spooked him. I have to admit, having a pterodactyl fly right at you is a bit unnerving. Still, I enjoyed it and wanted to ride it again but Jeremiah cried when we suggested it so we skipped it.
Of course I had to put a picture of the train on here because it might have been the favorite for both my children. We rode it over and over again. They loved the tunnels, the conductor, and sitting by themselves.
Finally we saw the relatively new sting ray exhibit. This was my personal favorite stop. I think sting rays are beautiful. I enjoyed having them swim under my hand and stroking them. Unfortunately the kids were so short that their arms didn't reach well to the bottom of the pool. I'm not sure the experience was that great for them, but I enjoyed it.Overall it was a great time since it was so different from our normal trips to the zoo. I love the St. Louis zoo. So many great things to see and do. Thanks Thomson-Reuters for the fun day!
